Malaysia Performing Arts Club (MPAC)

INTRODUCTION.

This club is formed to enhance and bring out the hidden acting talent in students of Kolej Mara Banting (Mara College Banting). They hold strongly to the words of George P Baker,

Acted drama requires surrender of one's self, sympathetic absorption in the play as it develops.

It is a known fact that the International Baccalaureate (IB) program is a very demanding. The members of this MPAC club find that their hard work, sweats, and all the time they spend on practicing is worth every second of it. The members treat the plays as a process to get to know each other even more.

This club is special as it is one of very few clubs in this college which do not have an organization chart. Each member will be given a chance to be the director of a play. It is to help the members to develop a leadership skill which is vital in life.

MCB Book Club

Introduction:

Mara College Banting Book Club is basically for those students that like to read books. In this club, the students have the chance to share the story they read with the other members. This club is very educational and yet fun as the students got to gain knowledge and at the same time indulge themselves in reading many books with amazing stories.

Objective:

1. To instil the interest of reading books.

2. To give the students chance to express their opinions about the books they read.

Taska Adikku Sayang

The main objectives for Taska Adikku Sayang Club is to help the teachers at Taska Adikku Sayang. The students are mainly KMB staff’s children. The kindergarten situated at the Kolej Mara Banting. The principal of the kindergarten are Ms Zaidah and Ustazah Johaina. The members of the club really helped the teachers. Not only that, they gained valueless experience from the activities held by the club. It’s not easy to handle six year olds children and yet they have to learn how to make sure the children obeyed their instructions.

Activities in 2010

Annually activities:

Every year, the members tried to carry out many activities to make sure they give their utmost commitment to the club. In 2010, there is a few mega project such as:

§ Hari Raya celebration

§ Anak Soleh Camp

§ Graduation day of the kids

Weekly activities:

Every week, on Wednesday they met at the Taska Adikku Sayang at 12.40pm to 1.30pm. Basically, they will conduct these activities:

§ Telling the children fable stories

§ Help the teachers teaching the children

§ Planting

But the activities will change according to the current condition.

Genius Event Management (GEM)

Introduction:

GEM is the abbreviation for Genius Event Management. It is one of companies under PSN (Program Siswa Niaga). The main objective of this company is to develop business skills and encourage students to run their own business in future. GEM consist of 19 members of Year 1 and 12 members of Year 2.

Creative Club

The founder of creative club is Pn. Rokiah and Pn. Nilawati is the first advisor of this club and until now. The aim of this club is to give chance to students to learn about craft and others. BIO-D Club

The founder of Bio-D club is Ustaz Shiham, one of the teachers in College Mara Banting. As any other clubs, this club has its own aim which is – ‘Go Green’. The members of this club were given tasks in planting plants, vegetables and even fruits as a way to achieve their aim. The first batch of this club planted chili and corn, the second batch planted corn and pineapple and the third batch focus more on continuing the pineapple cultivation.
