3. Activities
I. Children’s Day Event
All groups from A, B, C and D had combined together in order to carry out their Children’s Day Event at the school.
II. Mural Painting
With the paints and brushes provided by the school itself, students worked together to create a spectacular mural. With teamwork, they had managed to finish within the time frame without any problems and difficulties.
III. Relief Teacher Role
The students were also given the chance to play as the relief teacher for certain non-exam classes when the their teachers were unable to attend the classes. Communicating with the children had taught all the students who went there to be more patient as kids will always be kids (playful and fun-loving).
IV. Assisting the Staffs upon Request
Some of our students are asked to do computer work, help out in the library and do a bit of various odd jobs.
V. Office work
The students had been offered to help the staffs with simple office work like typing out things like name lists and things like stapling or gluing documents together. Not once did they think that these jobs were beneath them.
4. Self Reflections
“I’ve gained a lot of experience when working with the administration there. There was also a miscommunication problem when trying to organize the Children’s Day event. However, by overcoming the problem, I’d have to say that we’ve all had improved our communication skills and are on our way in becoming more open minded persons.”
- Wan Mohamad Fahmi bin Mohamad Faisal
